An award winning team

Our work has been recognised on several fronts, including being awarded The Herald Society Awards Older People's Project of the Year for 2019, recognising our befriending and handyperson services, leisure and learning activities and swap shop boutiques.

This award is testament to the hard work of our hundreds of front-line volunteers and our small but dedicated staff team.

As well as that, LEAP was awarded the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service - the equivalent of an MBE for business - in recognition for its support for older people throughout South Lanarkshire, enabling them to live longer in their homes and play an active part in their communities.

We are also proud to have been the only befriending service in South Lanarkshire for older people - and the first in Scotland - to be awarded Quality in Befriending Excellence. And we received our Investing in Volunteers award in 2015, subsequently retaining it in 2019.
